Think your life is tough?

My entire life God has used me as a pawn in his game of chess. I was diagnosed with ADD at age 7, now Bipolar II at age 17. Now these past three years have been the worst. 2010 I was diagnosed with an ulcer in my duodenum and basically found out a year later that it was not caused by bacteria or anything like that but by stress (stress you cannot run away from so there for this ulcer will never heal). 2011 I had a colon cancer scare. And now 2012 has a double whammy; a neurological problem that is still being under investigation as to which one it is (most likely acoustic tumor or geniculate neuralgia) and a sleep disorder that is also still being diagnosed. I never hear back from my ENT about scheduling another appointment or a head MRI to see which one of the neuro problems are causing my ear pain and two of the doctors that work in the clinic that I go to for my primary care are going back and forth on if I need a sleep med or a sleep study (it's either narcolepsy or insomnia tho I share more symptoms with narcolepsy).

Commenter, you sound like an invalidating abuser. Maybe you should refrain from speaking to humans?

If his illnesses are triggered by stress, it IS in his mind. Your mind can do amazing things, it helps to stop trying to find conditions or labels for yourself such as ADD or Bipolar, if you think of yourself as sick, you will be sick.

For example: A student had a knee injury. The surgeons operated on the wrong knee, & damaged the good knee...but the "injured" knee actually healed on it's own without the operation, so the operated on knee was the one that was the source of pain. If she had just let her knee heal naturally she would have been fine. If you let the medical industry mess with you unnecessarily, they can actually cause you more problems than you came in with. A woman where I live went to the doctor with a sleeping problem. Instead of giving her decent sleeping pills they put her on those ssris. The drugs they put her on messed with her mind so much she wound up in a nut house. For simple insomnia!

Im sure I could label myself a couple of mental illnesses if I wanted to, but I know that they would load me up with pills that could make it worse.

The only problems I see of any concern are his ulcer and ear pain. He did not have colon cancer and the sleep problems could be the result of stress and nerves (thus the perceived neurological disorder).

So it's far better for me to tell this to relax about it than to validate.
