I've been thinking about life a lot lately and I realized that society dictates so much about how every individual should live. You "should" have a job, you "should" get married, you "should" go to school. But who cares, sometimes you have to remember that no one in reality can tell you what to do. Enjoy the little things because often times we are so distracted by all of the BS in society that we forget about how amazing and awesome life is. We are just lucky to be on such an amazing planet; it has life everywhere, which is a miracle within itself. Go out and go swimming, or go outside and just wonder and take in everything that's out there. Roam around and look at everything, don't take anything for granted. Buildings, cars, trees, bugs, sand, dirt, computers, lakes, mountains all of it is AWESOME! You don't need money, or wealth or status to see that. Just know life is awesome. We live in an unbelievable era too because we are on the verge of the future. Think of how everything is going to so rapidly develop since we have advancing technology now. Soon anything will be possible and luckily we were here on the brink of it. The technology we have now is just the tip of the iceberg. That's amazing too. So go out, screw anyone that tells you NO. They're the losers. If you value everything that's going on in the world, the special things you have more than millions of people have and really you don't need anything to have that. Do that, become happy, and the friends, the money, the life society makes out to be great will all follow. | |
Nobody has ever accused me of being an optimist but i really think that we are no different than the virus that proliferates until the point that it kills it's host, and thereby ensures it's own exinction. we are an evolutionary dead end, unable to evolve beyond our own selfish instincts, those instincts have basically condemned the planet to death. Even if the environmental problems don't kill us, or the rampant overpopulation, it's just a matter of time before nuclear conflict breaks out. It's amazing we have lived so long under this sword of Damocles. Look at all the madmen running this world. it's just a shame that we are going to take most of the planet's lifeforms with us.
Also - if you honestly believe the world is going all to hell, why not choose to change it? One person at a time, make the world a better place. "Well one person can't do anything!" I hear the pessimist say.
"Yes, but what if EVERY-one person chose to change the world. What then?" I reply.
Dark thoughts help no one, especially not yourself. The only thing to do that makes any sense is to stop worrying about the future and to simply live in the now. If everyone did this the world would be a much better place.
Peace and long life
There are however, people in the position to do something about these problems. But they dance to the sound of a different tune than we do. So diluted in their own little worlds, never seeing the bigger picture.
