Reading other people's stories makes mine not look that bad. Lots of teens posting on here. Life does suck when you're a teen. Doesn't get much better as you get older either. I am 44, and a single mom. I just spent thousands of dollars on a college education getting my Bachelor's degree, just to find out there are NO jobs out there. Forget Obama's healthcare reform, what is he doing about the millions of unemployed American's like me? I have been unemployed for 4 months. I am depressed as hell and don't even feel like getting out of bed. I wonder if the suicide rate has gone up due to the crash of our economy?

I understand what you mean completely about not wanting to get out of bed. I sleep way too much and I would like to think that it is because I am depressed (or sad) about not working. And I bet the suicide rate has gone up. Well, I hope that things turn out better for you real soon.

The economy will pick up and you will find a good job. Keep the faith. Be proud that you continued your education and got your degree. Hopefully it is in something that you can actually make a living at, not like some liberal arts garbage that has chronic unemployment written all over it. May as well have a degree in collecting welfare. Good luck.

Im with you!!! 48 year old single mom (3 in college) unemployed for 15 months!! Our government has totally fucked us and really do not care. I can only think about getting out of the USA and try Canada or some island. I have no reason to get up in the morning. I just got my BS degree in a dying career (political science). 15 years of school for nothing. Im going further in debt. I know I am not the only one in this mess, but sorry its me that I care about now. And whats worse is that Ive been single for 17 years.. Alone, unemployed and broke.. Why continue to live?

Well you chose a questionable route. What exactly do you do with a Bachelors in political science? If you believe the government f-ed us, do something about it. Run for local political office. Rubn as an independent because people are sick of the same old crap Repubs and Dems. Start small and maybe make a difference in your country. Stop complaining and take action.

Live for your kids. Live for the hope that things can turn around. Live because your healthy. Maybe a good man will come along or you can try online dating. Nobody hurt themselves please we are worthwhile good people in a bad situation we cannot let it bring us down!

I hear ya about the job situation hun! I graduated in 04 with a bachelors in business. Went to work right away for an insurance company. They laid me off in 08, and since then the only jobs I can get are through temp agencies and collecting unemployment between assignments. Direct hire jobs are so hard to find nowadays in IL. I hate temping but I got to do it until something better comes along. Jobs are paying less for new employees, too. If you know someone that can get you a job with a good company that is the best way to go!

Yes, life sucks. I voted "Yes, it sucks" because: you've been had. Like so many other American who just wanted the life we were promised at birth.. we've all been fucking had.
